Thunderbirds Are Go

Renowned, contemporary British orchestral conductor, Charles Hazlewood led a celebration of the music of composer, Barry Gray, best known for the theme tunes to iconic Gerry Anderson TV puppet shows, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet and many more. His ‘Allstar Collective’ including Pulp singer-songwriter, Jarvis Cocker, Adrian Utley of Portishead and Will Gregory of Goldfrapp were to join the British Paraorchestra (founded by Hazlewood, formed entirely of brilliant, disabled musicans) at Bristol’s Colston Hall, for one night only, to perform Gray’s songs live.

Drafting copy for the national and international music press and approaching news desks and influential freelancers, the announcement for the show appeared across major music and entertainment websites. Jarvis was poorly, so couldn’t sing in the end, but the coverage remained in fine health, with Will Gregory explaining the last minute changes in an extended interview on BBC 6 Music’s ‘Radcliffe and Maconie’ show.
