James Skelly, lead singer with The Coral, runs Skeleton Key records from Liverpool from which he releases intriguing, new artists found in his home city and further afield. Circles, a Birmingham-based three-piece released their ‘Gonna Get to You’ EP in June 2014 and She Drew The Gun, nom de plume of collaborative singer-songwriter Louisa Roach, released her first single ‘If You Could See’ in February 2015.
Raising the profile of the label, coverage has appeared in The Independent and the Q Magazine website. Both Circles and She Drew The Gun have received BBC 6 Music airplay, with the latter repeatedly plugged by Steve Lamacq. Reviews, features, interviews and exclusive plays have appeared on Gigslutz, Louder than War, Get Into This, Liverpool Echo and other influential local and national blogs.
James Skelly: “Skeleton Key and our artists have had national exposure, on radio, online and in print, thanks to what Perspective/Rob has done for us. From brilliant writing to expert timing and good ideas, everything has been spot on.”
