Nick Power, songwriter and keyboard player with The Coral released a book of lyrical stories, Small Town Chase. After a low-key launch, the musician and his management wanted to give it an extra push. A range of fellow artists, including Paul Heaton, John Simm, Steve Mason and Maxine Peake were asked to read one of Nick’s stories, which were then streamed via Soundcloud. Tracks were played out on BBC 6 Music, to be followed by NME and Clash. Liverpool Echo provided news and review coverage. A series of prints to illustrate the stories, by Low Coney, were covered on Design Week.
Nick Power: “I thought the promo went really well. I was able to contact people I would never usually have got through to, including press. I had interviews set up for me which in turn led to further exposure and sales. Overall I was really pleased with how it went.”
